Program Overview

The University of Seoul (UOS) is delighted to host the International Research Internship Program for students from our global partner universities. This program provides a unique opportunity to engage in academic research and cultural exchange in the vibrant city of Seoul.

Program Highlights
Summer Internship (SISS Ⅰ)
  • Duration: 7.5 weeks (July 1 – August 21, 2026)
  • Credit: 3 academic credits
  • Requirement: 160+ hours of research work
  • Semester Internship (Visiting Student Program)
  • Requirement: 160+ hours of research work
  • Duration: 16 weeks (Spring or Fall semester)
  • Credit: 3 academic credits (Up to 18 credits available per semester)
  • Requirement: 160+ hours of research work
Estimated Costs (as of 2026)
  • Summer Internship:
  • Partner Discount: 2,400,000 KRW (approx. 1,650 USD)
  • Non-partner Fee: 2,600,000 KRW (approx. 1,800 USD)
  • Includes on-campus accommodation and cultural field trips.
  • Semester Internship: Varies by department (e.g., Business Administration: 2,156,000 KRW / Engineering: 2,848,000 KRW)
How to Apply (for Summer 2026)
Step 1: Preliminary Application (by March 27, 2026)

Email uosinternship@uos.ac.kr with the title (Summer 2026 Internship).

Include: Name, Home University, Current Field/Grade, Target Lab (from UOS website)

Attachments: CV, Cover Letter, Academic Transcript, Language Proficiency (if any)

Step 2: Online Interview (April 6 – April 10, 2026)

Interview notification: By April 3 (Fri)

Interview period: April 6 (Mon) – April 10 (Fri)

Step 3: Result Notification (by April 17, 2026)

Results will be sent individually to each applicant.

Step 4: Official Application for SISS Ⅰ (by April 30, 2026)

After being selected for the internship, students must complete the official application process for the Seoul International Summer School (SISS) Ⅰ.

Action: Follow the standard SISS Ⅰ application procedure via the OIA website.

Step 5: Invoice Issuance & Payment (by May 15, 2026)

Upon review of the application, an invoice will be sent to the applicant.

Payment must be completed via Flywire by May 15 (Fri).

Step 6: Admission Package (by May 29, 2026)
